Wov Flower Vase
Project type
Vase
The WOV Vase is a vertically woven form shaped by continuous rotation and subtle variation.
Its surface is composed of tightly spaced ridges that spiral upward, creating a sense of motion held in balance—neither fully static nor actively moving.
Rather than relying on ornament, the vase derives its expression from repetition and accumulation. Each line follows a consistent logic, yet the gradual shift in angle and density produces a soft, organic silhouette. As light moves across the surface, the form appears to breathe, revealing depth through shadow and curvature.
The profile narrows and expands gently, allowing the vase to function as a vessel while maintaining a sculptural presence. Empty, it reads as an object of quiet tension; filled, it frames stems and shadows as part of the composition.
WOV exists between structure and softness, precision and tactility. It is a study in how simple rules—when layered over time—can produce complexity, rhythm, and restraint.
